It's that time again – the annual spring clean is here. Spring is the best time of year to thoroughly declutter and clean your home. Every year, half of Germans do their spring cleaning, and that's a good thing too. Because with the first rays of sunshine, the dust from the past few months unfortunately also comes to light. If you're already turning your home upside down, it's even more fun to sort out a few things and redecorate a little. How about fresh spring colors and modern designs? We show you a few
wall clock examples that could help.
Where does "spring cleaning" come from?
Spring cleaning is not an invention of the cleaning products industry; as far back as ancient Rome, people succumbed to an annual cleaning frenzy. The word February comes from "februare," which means to clean in Latin. So the Romans probably used February for an annual thorough cleaning. And in ancient Persia too, the house was cleaned for "Noruz," the New Year festival. This celebration took place at the equinox, at the beginning of astronomical spring between March 19 and 21. So spring cleaning has a long tradition.
