Citizen EW2443-80X with Eco-Drive movement
Today, Citizen watches is a true watchmaking manufacturer with a comprehensive production process that ranges from the development and manufacture of individual watch components to final assembly. The company operates in more than 100 countries worldwide. Since its founding in 1918, Citizen has believed in "Better Starts Now" — that is, no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to do something better, and now is the time to start. We share this belief and have made watches, invented and improved technologies, and explored the future of watches, such as our own Eco-Drive technology powered by light.
Our Watch of the Week - Citizen EW2443-80X
In 1976, Citizen developed this world’s first analog, light-powered watch.
We called the technology Eco-Drive. With Eco-Drive, our watches generate energy even in low light and keep running for months even in the dark.
We have created watches with multiple functions; watches that are smaller, thinner and more beautiful; watches that everyone can relate to, and even love.
This week’s watch, the Citizen EW2443-80X, is also powered by Eco-Drive technology. The stylish women's watch also features a rose gold-colored stainless steel bracelet and case. The watch is very stylish and elegant, and displays the hour, minute, second and date on the matching dial with Arabic numerals and baton markers. A real eye-catcher!
What is Eco-Drive?
- No battery replacement required:
Eco-Drive eliminates the hassle and cost of regular battery changes. - Generates energy even in low light:
Eco-Drive generates energy not only in sunlight, but also in indoor light. You never have to worry about your watch stopping. - Runs for over six months in the dark:
A full charge is enough to keep most Eco-Drive models running for more than six months* in the dark. Some models have a runtime of 10 years.
Some models have a runtime of less than six months.
