Features of a diver's watch
A diver's watch is a waterproof and pressure-resistant wristwatch. It is specially designed to meet the needs of divers. This includes the highest possible water resistance, a unidirectional bezel that turns counterclockwise to measure dive time, and the best possible legibility underwater. A scratch-resistant watch crystal is also useful, usually sapphire crystal, since brushing against objects while diving cannot be ruled out.
It should be water-resistant to at least 20 ATM, equivalent to a water depth of 190 meters. It is used to measure dive time and is equipped for this purpose with a rotating bezel. Before descending, the diver sets the zero marker of the rotating bezel to the position of the minute hand. By looking at the watch, the elapsed dive time can then be read immediately.
For safety reasons, the bezel can only be turned counterclockwise. If it is accidentally moved during the dive, the marked start time will always be earlier than the actual one, and this prevents health risks caused by unintentionally exceeding the no-decompression limit.
In the age of dive computers, the classic diver's watch is now more of a fashion accessory and luxury item and is generally no longer needed as a primary display for diving. However, it can serve as a backup instrument.
In Germany, only watches labeled Taucheruhr or Diver’s Watch may be sold if they meet the criteria of DIN 8306. This includes tested water resistance, clear readability from a distance of 25 cm, functioning of the watch even in the dark, and the ability to preset a time span using a timer or a bezel.

We present a Chris Benz diver's watch. This men's watch features a black rubber strap, water resistance of 50 bar, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, making it especially suitable as a diver's watch. The movement is a mechanical precision automatic movement, which avoids the need to replace a battery, after which water resistance can no longer be guaranteed. The design is impressive as well, with the dial shining in a rich seagrass green.
In addition, our online shop offers diver's watches from the brands Citizen, Casio and Seiko .
This model from Citizen also features a black rubber strap, water resistance of 20 bar, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and a scratch-resistant mineral crystal.
