AMS Wall Clock 5895 Instruction Manual

The AMS radio-controlled wall clock 5895 impresses with its simple black design and functionality. The large digital LCD display ensures excellent readability of the time, even from a greater distance. In addition to the time, the display also shows the temperature and humidity. Integrated stand feet allow the clock to be set up, so it can also be used as a table clock. You can find the operating instructions here.  

1. Using the clock

To start up the clock, remove the battery compartment cover and insert four new AA batteries according to the polarity indicated in the battery compartment. Then reattach the battery compartment cover. As soon as the batteries are inserted, all segments of the LCD display briefly light up before the radio-controlled time reception mode starts. Within eight seconds, the radio-controlled clock automatically begins receiving the radio signal.

 

2. Function buttons

MODE button: Press this button to switch from clock mode to alarm mode.

SET button: Press and hold this button for 2 seconds to enter the time setting mode. In input mode, press this button to move from one setting to the next.

ADJUST button: In clock mode, press this button to switch from the month/date display to the year display. In alarm mode, press this button to activate/deactivate the alarm and snooze function. In input mode, press this button to change the input values.

SNOOZE button: Press this button to interrupt the alarm sound.

°C/°F button: Press this button to switch the temperature display from °C to °F. Press and hold this button for two seconds to receive the radio control signal for the reception test. During reception, press and hold this button for two seconds to change the reception frequency.

RESET button: Press this button to return to the factory settings. In the event of malfunctions, it may be necessary to reset the clock.

The clock is programmed to switch automatically from standard time to daylight saving time. During the summer months, daylight saving time is shown on the display with the abbreviation "DST".

6. Signal strength display

The display is capable of showing four levels of the strength of the received signal. If the wave symbol starts flashing, this means that time signals are being received. The signal quality can be divided into four types:

If the clock receives the signal successfully, the synchronization time symbol appears on the LCD display. The device is already synchronized with the time signal transmitter. Otherwise, the antenna symbol disappears from the LCD display.

Note: The °C/°F button can be used to receive the time signal manually. To do this, press and hold the °C/°F button for three seconds. The radio symbol starts flashing, indicating that the search has started. However, this function should be used as little as possible, as excessive use reduces battery life. The RECEPTION mode stops automatically after 6-12 minutes.

7. Time and calendar setting

If you are out of range of the radio transmitter or signal reception is not possible, the time and calendar can be set manually. As soon as the transmitter signal can be received again, the clock automatically synchronizes with the exact time and sets the calendar.

  1. In clock mode, press the "SET" button for two seconds until the hour display starts flashing.
  2. Press the "ADJUST" button to change the value.
  3. Repeat the procedures described above to set the time and calendar in the following order: hour > minute > second > 12/24h format > month > date > year > language for the day-of-the-week display.
  4. The settings for the five languages for the day of the week are represented by the following abbreviations: GB – English, FR – French, DE – German, ES – Spanish, IT – Italian.
  5. Press the "Mode" button to save and exit input mode, or press no button and wait until the device exits input mode automatically after 30 seconds.

8. Setting the alarm time

  1. In clock mode, press the "MODE" button to enter alarm mode.
  2. Press and hold the "SET" button for two seconds until the hour display starts flashing.
  3. Press the "ADJUST" button to change the value of the flashing display.
  4. Repeat the procedures described above and enter the minutes.
  5. Press the "MODE" button to save and exit input mode, or press no button and wait until the device exits input mode automatically after 30 seconds.

9. Using the alarm and snooze function

  1. Set the alarm time as described in the previous section.
  2. In alarm mode, press the "ADJUST" button once to activate the alarm function. The bell symbol appears on the display.
  3. Press the "ADJUST" button twice to activate the snooze function. The snooze symbol appears on the display.

Note:

- Once the snooze function is activated, the alarm sounds 5 times at four-minute intervals for a total duration of 60 seconds.

- Press the "SNOOZE" button to interrupt the alarm sound and switch to snooze mode.

10. Replacing the batteries

If the LCD display lighting becomes weaker, immediately insert four new AA batteries, observing the polarity indicated in the battery compartment.
