Lowell 21497 in Country House Style

Our watch of the week is the Lowell 21497. It is a classic wall clock because of the materials used, which are mainly made of wood. However, the style used, the country-house style, is currently very modern and on trend. So you can bring a touch of country air into your city apartment! Read now why this clock is a country-house-style clock and what makes the Lowell clock so special.

The country-house style

Idyllic, cozy, close to nature: the country-house style is conquering the city apartment and is being interpreted in a modern way with Nordic elements. Natural materials such as wood, rattan, stone, ceramic, and clay are typical of the country-house style. In addition, cotton, linen, and leather stand for craftsmanship, which is also characteristic of the uncomplicated country-house style. Turned furniture, antiques, and flea market finds complete this look. In combination, these materials convey naturalness, an essential element of the country-house style. The classic country-house style is complemented by newer variants such as vintage style, shabby chic, antique look, or the so-called used look, all of which visually lighten the country-house style. These styles refer to furniture and accessories that look old-fashioned or used, or actually are. Signs of wear, faded colors, and rough surfaces suit the country-house style and give traditional furniture a contemporary touch.

Our Lowell 21497

Our watch of the week is a vintage wall clock with a light brown wooden case measuring 60 cm in diameter. The dial is printed on a white-gray MDF wooden board and designed in a used look or antique look. In some places it looks worn and weathered, which gives it its modern style. The wood combination of light brown and white is also typical of the country-house style. The numbers are large and Arabic. The hands and other markings are also black. The dial also reads “Westminster Station Est. 1870 London Clocks No. 1519 Standard Time”. This also gives the wall clock a historical background.
