Nextime 5205BR Stone Table Clock
Our watch of the week this week is a table clock. However, this is not just any table clock, but one made of stone. The Nextime 5205BR is made of grey artificial stone. Thanks to the mix of stone and wood, this Nextime clock also creates a stylish antique-look appearance at the same time.
The antique-look appearance
It definitely has a certain appeal – the shabby look, or antique look, as it is also called. Vintage furniture has become increasingly popular in recent years. Antique-look furniture comes in numerous variations, and designers and furniture manufacturers keep coming up with new creations. Furniture made to look old is very labor-intensive to produce and therefore not exactly cheap. Shabby look means making furniture look old, even though it is not really that old yet. This style can be wonderfully combined with different interior styles. The furniture works very nicely as a detail in a romantic country-house style. Shabby simply means shabby. Colors from the pastel spectrum to light natural tones are used to create signs of wear on the pieces of furniture. The furnishings are artificially aged to create a nostalgic style. That is exactly how this look is created through the combination of wood and stone in our watch of the week. The stone look was artificially created, but it produces exactly the desired effect. The mottled surface of the artificial stone also creates an aged, used look.
Our Nextime 5205BR
The nearly 25 cm tall, modern table clock has a slim wooden base and a grey-mottled polyresin case, i.e. artificial stone. However, the clock looks very much like real stone. It is angular at the bottom and rounded at the top, matching the dial. The dial is recessed and covered by a wooden plate with a uniform pattern cut out of it. There are no numbers or indices, and the hands are silver-colored. The table clock is also a silent clock.
