Omega – one of the world’s most successful watch brands

Omega Watches has stood for technical innovation, precision, and watchmaking of the highest standard since its founding in 1848. That is why the brand rightly deserves our attention to its history and special features. After all, Omega watches are known worldwide and are regarded as luxury watches. Anyone who wants not just a watch, but also a valuable piece of jewelry that enjoys great prestige, will choose an Omega for good reason.

The Swiss watch brand achieved its fame through a pioneering spirit, a drive for innovation, and the highest quality. Since its founding, Omega Watches has continually reinvented mechanical watchmaking. In doing so, it has managed to set precision records time and again and still serves as the timekeeper at the most important sporting events today.

Some highlights in Omega's history include the "OMEGA" caliber introduced in 1894, the "Marine" model made in 1932, and the "Speedmaster" introduced in 1957. But Omega does not rest on its laurels. In 1999, the company developed the "Co-Axial escapement" and the "OMEGA Co-Axial caliber". The "Co-Axial escapement" is practically the first newly invented watch escapement in 250 years and differs from the Swiss lever escapement, which had previously been considered the ultimate. Reduced sliding friction, greater mechanical efficiency, outstanding long-term chronometric performance, and greater rate stability are among the advantages of the "Co-Axial escapement". The "OMEGA Co-Axial caliber" thus completely redefines mechanical movements. Omega's mechanical movements are both history and the future. The mechanical watches of today are not without reason often based on this operating principle.

Omega - World-renowned brand

So it is no wonder that Omega is known worldwide. For example, Nicole Kidman was also recruited for the campaign for the new ladies' watch model "Omega Ladymatic". And since 1995 and GoldenEye, Omega watches have appeared alongside the secret agent in the James Bond films. In the current James Bond film Skyfall, Daniel Craig is also seen wearing a wristwatch from the luxury brand. By the way, the popular "Omega Seamaster" is now also available exclusively in the limited "Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M SKYFALL" edition.
