Set Radio-Controlled Watches Correctly

Our radio-controlled wristwatches from MasterTime and EcoTechTime both operate according to the same instructions.

Features of the radio-controlled wristwatches

MasterTime and EcoTechTime watches are radio-controlled, which means they automatically switch to daylight saving or standard time. Their transmitter is DCF77 Mainflingen near Frankfurt am Main. The watch is structured as follows. In the center is the crown, which in this case has no function. Above it is the MODE button and below the crown is the SET button.

  1. The LCD display can show seconds, the weekday, and the date. Press the MODE button to select the desired display.

Basic setting of the radio-controlled wristwatches

The basic setting is used to resynchronize the hands with the internally stored radio time.

  1. Press and hold the SET and MODE buttons for 5 seconds – The hands stop and H.P. appears on the display.
  2. For synchronization, the hand position at a full hour is required. For example, 5 o'clock: hour hand on 5, second and minute hands on 12.
  3. Now press and hold MODE until the minute hand starts moving. Wait until the hands are just before a full hour. Then press MODE to stop the hands. By pressing MODE step by step, set the minute hand exactly to 12 o'clock. The watch should now show exactly a full hour.
  4. Press SET and a number will flash on the LCD display.
  5. Press MODE step by step until the number for the displayed hour appears on the LCD display. For example, 5 for 5 o'clock.
  6. Now press SET to confirm.

The basic setting is now complete. The watch will try to receive the radio signal and then set itself to the correct time. This process can take up to 8 minutes. If the signal is received successfully, an antenna symbol appears on the digital display. If this symbol does not appear, a manual signal request or the basic setting is required.

Manual signal request

  1. Press and hold MODE for 5 seconds.
  2. The LCD display indicates signal reception with the flashing antenna symbol. This process takes approximately 3-8 minutes.

Manual time setting without radio mode

If you want to use the watch outside the range of the DCF77 radio signal or in a different time zone, you must set the time manually.

  1. Press SET for 2 seconds, when the date is shown on the LCD display.
  2. THE LCD display shows HR for 3 seconds and then the internally stored hour display.
  3. Press MODE step by step to set the new hour display.
  4. Press SET to save your settings.
  5. The display will now show MIN for 3 seconds and then the internally stored minute display.
  6. If necessary, set the minute display by pressing MODE step by step.
  7. Press SET to save your settings.

As soon as you return to radio mode, please follow the basic setting instructions for the radio-controlled watch.
