Scout 375.017 Kids' Watch for German Children's Day

Background on German Children's Day
German Children's Day takes place on 20 September 2019. This day is World Children's Day for Germany, as each country sets its own date for World Children's Day. It should not be confused with the World Children's Day proclaimed by the United Nations on 20 November or the international Children's Day held on 1 June. The latter was celebrated in the German Democratic Republic, whereas the Federal Republic of Germany had already been holding a German Children's Day on 20 September since 1954. German Children's Day raises awareness of children's rights and children's needs. It is therefore a day of honour for children in Germany. Politicians use the day for speeches, and otherwise there are numerous festivals and activities around children or specifically for children. Child protection as well as family policy issues such as the call for a more child-friendly Germany are also the focus of this day of action. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the German Child Protection Association also take part in German Children's Day. German Children's Day can be celebrated in various ways. Of course, children should always be the focus. There is room for playing, laughing, and dancing. Anyone who cannot or does not want to attend an official Children's Day event always has the option of organising their own Children's Day party. Our Scout watch is a children's watch with a colourful textile strap. It features a butterfly, a horseshoe, a unicorn, and a dolphin. The case is a pink plastic case with glitter and black Arabic numerals for reading the seconds. The dial of the quartz watch is white, with pink-violet Arabic numerals and a pink flamingo.
