Seiko SSC701P1 Dive and Solar Watch

A special watch of the week is the Seiko SSC701P1 solar and diving watch for men. It has a sporty yet stylish design, making it a perfect fit for every man and every style! Find out more about the Seiko wristwatch.

Features of a diving watch and a solar watch

The diving watch is a waterproof, pressure-resistant wristwatch (water-resistant to at least 20 bar). It is used to measure dive time and is equipped for this purpose with a rotating bezel, which is used to mark the start time of the dive by turning the 12 o'clock position of the bezel, marked with luminous material, to the current position of the minute hand.

Our Seiko SSC701P1 is also water-resistant to 20 bar and has a rotating bezel. LumiBrite hands make it easier to read in the dark. It is also a great advantage if the diving watch has a silicone strap, as this is very durable. The case is an anthracite-colored titanium carbide case and therefore cannot tarnish. Strong Hardlex glass also protects the dial from water.

The men's watch also has a solar-powered quartz movement. The solar cell takes the shape of the watch and is usually circular. It not only forms the dial, but also absorbs sunlight and converts it into electrical energy, which powers the integrated rechargeable battery. The main advantage of solar watches over a regular quartz watch is their continuous charging from the light available in the environment. As the name suggests, sunlight naturally plays the leading role. Simple quartz watches have a small battery that is often depleted after about two years.

Our watch of the week is also a chronograph watch, as it lets you read the hour, minute, second, and date, and stop time on 3 chronographs. The men's watch has a dark blue silicone strap, an anthracite-colored case, a blue dial, and a white dot index with luminous hands.
