Seiko SSE003J1 Astron Wristwatch
Our watch of the week is the Seiko SSE003J1 Astron. It features a stylish silver-coloured hard-coated titanium link bracelet and a black dial with three chronograph subdials. The movement is solar-powered. This watch adjusts to your current time zone, even when you are on the move. The Seiko Astron automatically connects to the GPS network.
Setting the time zone
- You should be outdoors, where your watch has a clear view of the sky and the GPS networks.
- Press and hold pusher D for 6 seconds. Release it as soon as the second hand has moved to the 30-second position. Reception should now take a maximum of 2 minutes.
- If the second hand points to "Y" or "N", reception is complete. This will be displayed for 5 seconds. After that, the hour and minute hands will move, and the local time and date will return to the currently set time zone.
Activating flight mode
- Press and hold pusher C for 3 seconds.
- The multi-indicator hand points to the small airplane. When flight mode is activated, the power reserve status is not displayed.
Resetting flight mode
- Repeat step 1.
Setting daylight saving time
- Pull the crown out to the first position. The multi-indicator hand moves to display the current daylight saving time (DST) setting. The stopwatch second hand now shows the current time zone.
- Press and hold pusher D for 3 seconds within 5 seconds after step 1. The indicator hand moves to DST (ON), and the hour and minute hands move forward one hour.
- Now push the crown back in. The stopwatch second hand will return to the 12 o'clock position.
