Spring vibes with the Sompex 8065
The sun is shining, temperatures are rising, and so is the good mood. The famous springtime feelings are finally waking up from hibernation. People are laughing again, flirting, and feeling cheerful. Our watch of the week, the Sompex 8065, is also getting into the spring spirit.
What springtime feelings do to us
Psychological studies have shown that springtime feelings really do exist. When rays of sunshine hit the skin, the brain releases more of the happiness hormone endorphin. Endorphin is a messenger substance produced in the pituitary gland, acts as a painkiller, and is released during positive experiences. The production of sex hormones is also linked to endorphins. Another happiness hormone stimulated by sunlight is serotonin. It makes the body more relaxed, balanced, and content, and is also known as the activity hormone. The counterpart to serotonin, the sleep hormone melatonin, is reduced during the transition from winter to summer. We feel more awake and are more active.
Butterflies and other spring-like insects also contribute to our springtime feelings. There are nearly 160,000 different species of butterflies, making them one of the most species-rich insect orders. Numerous butterfly species are specialized to certain plants and their blossoms. As a result, the plants also depend on the butterflies, because only they can pollinate the specially shaped flowers. They are delicate creatures that not only play a crucial role in nature, but also lift our spirits and are simply part of a sunny spring day.
Our spring watch Sompex 8065
Our watch of the week, the wall clock from Sompex, is also embracing spring in color and form. The modern wall clock has a white dial without indexes. The hands are black. Instead of three, six, nine, and 12 o'clock, small butterflies stand out three-dimensionally from the dial. Under the white wings, the butterflies are lilac-purple, making them very delicate and spring-like.
