Functions of a sundial

sundial shows the time of day with the help of the sun's position in the sky. The hand is usually the line-shaped shadow of a rod. During the day, the rod's shadow moves around the dial, which is scaled with the hours of the day. The variety of sundials made is based primarily on differences in the shape and orientation of the dial. The most common version is the vertical sundial with a flat dial, often mounted on a building wall.
Sundials have been in use since antiquity, and at the beginning of the 19th century they were still usually meant when people spoke of clocks. Until the beginning of the 20th century, they were still used, limited to showing midday (the so-called noon markers), to adjust mechanical clocks that were still not accurate enough. Today, they often serve only as decoration on buildings, in gardens, and in parks.

The MILLENIUM sundial by Sunshine Garden combines a modern design with the classic function of a sundial. The Roman numerals have been laser-cut out of the dial. The clock has a silver-colored body made of stainless steel, and all connections and screws are also made of stainless steel. As a result, the surface of the sundial has a brushed, high-quality satin finish. The parts are delivered pre-assembled, so final assembly of the outdoor clock is simple. Of course, because of the stainless steel parts, the outdoor clock will not rust and will remain in perfect condition for years to come. It can be cleaned very easily with a damp cloth and a little standard household dish soap. The Sunshine Garden Millenium Globe has a diameter of 400 mm and a height of 850 mm.
