Order sundials for the start of summer!

The finishing touch for any garden comes with the right decoration. Just like in the living room, you also have many ways to create a beautiful atmosphere in the garden and on the terrace with details. With small eye-catchers, you can add lovely accents anywhere in the garden.

That is why we recommend buying a sundial for your garden! These are not only practical, they also look great. In our shop, we have a few different versions of sundials, as well as many garden clocks in general.

Functions of a sundial

A sundial shows the time of day with the help of the sun's position in the sky. The pointer is usually the line-shaped shadow of a rod. The rod's shadow moves across the dial, which is scaled with the hours of the day, throughout the day. The variety of sundials is based primarily on different shapes and orientations of the dial. The most common version is the vertical sundial with a flat dial, often mounted on a building wall.

Sundials have been in use since antiquity and, up until the beginning of the 19th century, were usually what was meant when people spoke of clocks. Until the beginning of the 20th century, they were still used, limited to showing the hour of noon (so-called noon markers), to adjust mechanical clocks, which were still not accurate enough. Today, they often serve only as decoration on buildings, in gardens, and in parks.

Our sundials from Sunshine Garden

The SKULPTUR sundial and the MILLENIUM sundial from Sunshine Garden combine a modern design with the classic function of a sundial. On both, the Roman numerals have been laser-cut from the dial. Both have a silver-colored stainless steel body, and all connections and screws are also made of stainless steel. This gives the surface of the sundial a brushed, high-quality satin finish.

The parts are delivered pre-assembled, making the final assembly of the outdoor clock easy. Of course, thanks to the stainless steel parts, the outdoor clock cannot rust and remains in perfect condition for years to come. It can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth and a little household dish soap.
