Our clock of the week is the classic wall clock Terrastudio 6107. But this wall clock is not only classic, it is also a kitchen clock and was made from ceramic. What may take some getting used to for one person is a true gem for another. Either way, you don't see a clock like this every day! So read on now to find out what makes this clock so special.

A Clock Made of Ceramic

Ceramic is one of humanity's oldest cultural techniques. A mixed mass of inorganic and non-metallic materials can be fired to create an extremely versatile product that is used everywhere today and is indispensable. The term ceramic comes from the ancient Greek word Keramos and refers to clay. The composition of the clay, as well as the firing temperature and duration, can vary widely and thus lead to a wide range of end products and uses; in our case, a ceramic clock. Not all types of clay can be fired at such high temperatures, so low-fired clay is coated with a glaze depending on its intended use in order to achieve water resistance.

Our Terrastudio 6107

Our Terrastudio 6107 is made of ceramic with a white finish. The case is shaped like a small plaque, rectangular with a rounded arch, measuring 20 x 26 x 3cm (H x W x D). A quartz movement has been fitted to the ceramic panel. In the center of the Terrastudio 6107 is a round dial set slightly deeper. It features brown Arabic numerals and black hands. The dial has been elaborately decorated, making it a kitchen clock. On the Terrastudio wall clock, you can see a blue cup, some baked goods, grain, and a brown mill. Grain has also been painted above the dial. This wall clock was made with great attention to detail and is sure to find an admirer of special kitchen clocks.
