Our clock of the week is the AMS 9616. The
AMS clock pairs beautifully with country style thanks to its combination of metal and oak wood. In this article, learn more about the wall clock, as well as country style.
Country style - how it works
Natural materials such as wood, rattan, stone, ceramic, and clay are typical of country style. Cotton, linen, and leather also stand for craftsmanship, which is likewise characteristic of the uncomplicated country style. Turned furniture, antiques, and finds from flea markets complete this look. In combination, these materials convey a natural feel and an antique look, essential elements of country style.
Classic country style also includes newer variations such as vintage style, shabby chic, or the so-called used look, all of which make country style appear visually lighter. These styles refer to furniture and accessories that look old-fashioned or used, or actually are. Signs of wear, faded colors, and rough surfaces suit country style and give traditional furniture a modern touch.
Whether it is a British cottage, a French country house, or a little house by Lake Chiemsee - country style and the matching country furniture bring nature indoors. This includes fresh pastel shades and natural colors, as well as traditional patterns such as checks or floral motifs. To keep country style from sinking into overly pale natural colors, fresh accents such as stripes or dots are ideal, preferably in bold red or blue and white. Other colors for country style include classic off-white and understated dark blue.
Our AMS 9616
Our clock of the week, the AMS 9616, stands out with its 40 cm dial, which is made from a combination of wood and metal. The classic
wall clock features an oak wood dial in beige-brown, from which Roman numerals, dot indices, and lettering have been milled out. This lettering reads “Old Town Clock London”. A circular black metal frame is mounted around the dial. The hands that show the hours and minutes are also black. The wall clock belongs to the AMS Design series.
