We have all used an alarm clock at some point, or even use one every day. Many people need one to get up on time in the morning, because not everyone has an internal clock that wakes them reliably. Where does the alarm clock come from?
Back then, as today, there are people who make clocks. These people are called clockmakers. However, clocks back then did not run on batteries, but had to be wound up again and again. In any case, a resourceful clockmaker developed a mechanism that makes it possible for a clock to play a music box tune at a certain tone. This is how the first alarm clock was invented. As time went on, the technology became more and more reliable and affordable, especially with the invention of electricity. In any case, this also made it possible for even deaf and childless people to be woken up at the same time every day. By the way, this concept started particularly well in Germany, and German punctuality emerged. Today there are many different types of alarm clocks, so there is something suitable for everyone.
The types of alarm clocks
Digital alarm clocks display the time digitally and in Arabic numerals. The dial usually stands out clearly from the numbers so that it is easy to read. Many digital dials are also illuminated. They are so popular because they receive the time via a radio signal and are therefore always accurate, precise, and easy to use. Silent alarm clocks do not mean that these clocks have no alarm tone.
