Hermle 23029-030711 in Classic Style
Our Watch of the Week, the Hermle 23029-030711, is a very classic clock and may not be to everyone’s taste. Nevertheless, it is unique and not the kind of clock you see every day. Perhaps you are even a lover of such clocks and now have the chance to snap it up at a great price!
Wall clock in cuckoo clock style
The classic wall clock is reminiscent of a mix between a birdhouse and a cuckoo clock. However, this is not a cuckoo clock, as there is no bird that appears. There is only a pendulum. Nevertheless, the pendulum clock looks like a birdhouse, but one that is elaborately decorated. A typical birdhouse design is a small wooden house; weatherproof material is used to cover the usually steeply pitched roof. The garden-design aspect of birdhouses, on the other hand, is evident in, for example, decorative elements that stand for features of human dwellings or places to stay, such as stylized chimneys.
Wall clock in Bavarian style
Our Hermle wall clock also has elaborate decoration. No chimney, but a small bell tower. Everything is reminiscent of a small Bavarian hut in the countryside and can therefore also be described as Bavarian style. Dark wood was used for the roof, with large tiles that imitate roof shingles. To the left and right of the dial, you can see two small windows, lovingly decorated with curtains, shutters, and flower boxes.
The classic Hermle 23029-030711
Other special features of this classic clock are, of course, the pendulum, but also the open movement. It is located inside the little house and thus directly behind the open dial. The movement is a mechanical 8-day skeleton movement with a brass chime. The dial consists of a brown wooden ring with beige Roman numerals. The hands are black and the pendulum is gold-colored. All in all, the classic style runs through the entire Hermle clock and makes it a real treasure for all enthusiasts!
