The JVD NS11073/23 for modern and classic interiors

Our watch of the week is the JVD NS11073/23 pendulum clock. It is a classic wall clock, but the glass casing also gives it a slightly modern look. One thing is certain: it pairs well with classic walnut furniture, but also with a modern interior featuring lots of glass.

Classic elements of the JVD NS11073/23

Classic living spaces often consist of wood and are also frequently made of dark walnut. Walnut wood has been considered a fine furniture wood for centuries. European walnut is found mainly in warmer Western and Central Europe. It has a light gray sapwood of 3 to 7 cm. The heartwood is matte brown to black-brown, irregularly streaked with darker veins of varying widths. As solid wood, walnut is used for parquet flooring, gun stocks, and woodturning work. In our clock, it is used for the outer casing.

The silver-colored dial is also considered classic. Although no Roman numerals were used, black Arabic numerals on a silver-colored dial face still look rather classic. The silver-colored pendulum can also be counted among them, because pendulum clocks are generally better suited to a classic interior.

Modern elements of the JVD NS11073/23

In modern spaces, you often find lots of glass paneling. Glass makes rooms feel larger and more open. Glass is a collective term for a group of amorphous solids. Most glass is mainly made of silicon dioxide, such as drinking glasses or window glass; these — usually light-permeable — silicate glasses are by far the most economically important of all glasses. Glass architecture refers to the extensive use of glass as a building material beyond the usual extent, used as an architectural design element. Our clock also has a large transparent glass pane in front of the dial.

And the last material used in our watch of the week is modern as well. The silver-colored metal is also used in modern interiors and architecture. The wall clock is also a silent clock, avoiding the loud ticking of the hands or the pendulum.

So the pendulum clock remains a classic wall clock, but thanks to both elements it can be perfectly combined with any interior.
