From the first Grand Seiko in 1960 to the automatic chronograph in 1969, the 1960s were a decade of major advances in both technical and design development, laying the foundation for the company's future success in the field of prestigious watches. Never before in the company's history had there been a period of such creativity and performance. Alongside Grand Seiko, another Seiko series in particular demonstrated the company's expertise in producing highly accurate mechanical watches. It was called King Seiko and, in addition to its precision, offered a powerful yet graceful design that reflects its high-quality craftsmanship. The KSK case features a strikingly sharp, angular contour, giving it a modern look. The flat surfaces and faceted transitions of the case catch the light from every angle.

The strap is made of black leather with a crocodile pattern. The stainless steel case has a Super-Hard Coating, the glass is sapphire crystal curved above the bezel and has an anti-reflective coating on the inside.
