The TFA 35.5057 Weather Station
Our watch of the week is the TFA 35.5057 table clock, which is also a small weather station. It has several functions and makes it easy for users to read weather conditions. This clock is especially practical for private use, for example in the kitchen, but it can also be placed in offices and on desks.
What is a weather station?
A weather station is a collection of various measuring instruments used to measure meteorological values and thus observe the weather at a specific location and for climate research. Weather stations are used for official weather measurements and forecasts - such as those of the German Weather Service - other weather services, and private purposes. A general distinction is made between analog and digital weather stations. The German Weather Service operates 131 full-time, fully automatic weather stations without personnel. In contrast, the 51 weather offices of the DWD are staffed measuring stations that carry out more extensive measurements and weather observations. The oldest weather station still in existence is the one at Kremsmünster Observatory in Upper Austria. It was established in 1762 and has the world's longest continuous measurement series.
