Watch Size Advisor!

Choosing the right watch size

When it comes to a wristwatch, style and appearance are one thing. But what good is the most beautiful watch if it doesn’t fit your wrist? Size and fit are very important factors when buying a wristwatch. In this guide, we would like to explain what you should look out for.

The perfect size:

One key factor in finding the right size is the diameter of a wristwatch. This is typically given in millimeters and indicates whether the watch will suit you or not. The diameter is measured without the crown and pushers. The height of the watch case is also crucial. If you have a rather slender wrist, for example, it is advisable to choose a slightly thinner watch. Here too, the height is given in millimeters.

Here is a guideline for sizing:

  • Watch diameter of 36 – 40 mm = wrist circumference of approx. 16cm
  • Watch diameter of 40 – 42 mm = wrist circumference of approx. 17cm
  • Watch diameter of 42 – 44 mm = wrist circumference of approx. 18cm
  • Watch diameter of 42 – 45 mm = wrist circumference of approx. 19cm
  • Watch diameter of 43 – 50 mm = wrist circumference of approx. 20cm

Women's watches and men's watches:

In general, a distinction is made between women's watches and men's watches. While women's watches are usually somewhat smaller and thinner, men's watches are somewhat larger and thicker and are intended to look more striking. This is influenced by gender, but by no means excludes personal taste.

The weight:

The larger and more substantial the wristwatch, the greater the perceived weight. If a watch is too large and bulky, comfort decreases. A wristwatch should be a discreet companion throughout everyday life and not get in the way.

Our conclusion:

We recommend that you think carefully about how you want the watch to look and use the information above to find the right size. A wristwatch is of no use to you if it doesn’t suit you and is therefore rarely worn.
