Canvas & Motif Clocks – Picture and Time in One

Canvas clocks combine the decorative character of a wall picture with the function of a clock: a high-quality motif print on canvas meets an integrated clockwork. This combination makes them the ideal solution for living rooms and bedrooms, but also for hotels or practices where a relaxed atmosphere is more important than a sober time display. At uhren4you, you'll find a large selection of motifs – your time is unique, and as a picture on the wall, it becomes a work of art.uhren4youyou'll find a large selection of motifs – your time is unique, and as a picture on the wall, it becomes a work of art.

Buying Guide: Decoration Meets Function

1. Design & Materials
The picture is the focus.

  • Construction: A printed canvas fabric is stretched over a sturdy wooden frame. The motifs range from calming nature scenes and urban skylines to abstract graphics.
  • Time Display: Hands and indices are often subtly integrated so as not to detract from the image. Pay attention to contrast (e.g., dark hands on a light sky) so that the time remains readable.

2. Technology & Noise Level
Canvas clocks are usually very lightweight, which simplifies assembly.

  • Drive: Reliable quartz movements are used as standard.
  • Quietness: Since these clocks are often hung in quiet zones, we recommend models with a silent sweep second hand. This allows you to enjoy the motif without annoying ticking.

3. Size & Placement
From compact 40×40 cm to impressive panoramas (60×90 cm+):
Hang the clock in your direct line of sight (e.g., opposite the sofa). Give the picture enough "air" from furniture and other pictures so that the motif can have an impact.

Which motif for which room?

  • Living Room: A large motif with a calm hand design and a quiet movement becomes the central eye-catcher above the sofa.
  • Bedroom: Choose subtle colors and nature motifs, and definitely a sweep movement for undisturbed sleep.
  • Hallway: Narrow vertical or horizontal formats make optimal use of wall space.
  • Practice / Hotel: Calm, landscape motifs and a neutral style create a relaxed atmosphere for patients and guests.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is a canvas clock easy to read?
This depends heavily on the motif. Make sure that the color of the hands clearly stands out from the background (contrast).

Are there canvas clocks with radio control?
Most models are quartz-powered because the movement is built behind the canvas. However, there are isolated models with radio technology.

How do I clean the canvas?
Canvas fabric should only be dry-dusted. Do not use wet cloths or cleaning agents to avoid damaging the print.
