UMR Ruhla – Thuringian tradition for over 150 years
The Uhren Manufaktur Ruhla (UMR) is deeply rooted in Ruhla, Thuringia, on the edge of the Thuringian Forest. For more than 150 years, inventive spirit and precise craftsmanship have shaped this region, which remains a proud and vibrant center of the German watchmaking industry to this day.
In 2019, this history-rich legacy was revitalized. Continuing the heritage of the Thiel brothers, who once produced the very first pocket watches on site, UMR Ruhla revives the spirit of artisanal precision in modern timepieces.

Today, the manufactory produces stylish watches for women, men, and children, as well as precise alarm clocks for daily use. A dedicated team of nine employees combines traditional expertise with modern technology and an in-house design department to meet the highest standards.
